With a love for creating joyful moments and memories, Jago gravitated towards hospitality from a young age. He started his career as an apprentice chef at 15 and remained in the kitchen for seven years.
Jago knew he wanted to move to front of house when he began cooking live for customers in restaurants, where he would enjoy sharinghis knowledge and telling stories as he cooked.
Jago worked in front facing senior management roles in the hospitality industry before landing a sales role, and has never looked back. His previous roles include Rooms Division Manager, Food and Beverage Manager, General Manager and Director of Sales and Marketing, most recently for the Brisbane Marriot and Sofitel Brisbane prior to the Brisbane Showgrounds, as well as projects for the Commonwealth Games, Olympics and G20.
Cat has more than 20 years' experience in hospitality and events including working on high-profile events such as the G20, AFC Asian Cup and Australian Ladies Masters.
The connection with people is what Cat enjoys most about the industry. Her wealth of experience allows her to work very closely with clients, connecting them with the rightvenue space to suit their needs and offering them advice on how they can enhance their event.
Her previous roles include Director of Meetings and Events for Crown Plaza Hotels and Sofitel Brisbane Central.
Alicia has been involved in the hospitality and events industry for more than 25 years.
She brings a true passion for the industry to her role, always striving to exceed client expectation and ensuring events are both memorable and successful.
For the past 13 years, Alicia has been dedicated to learning everything she possibly can about the events industry. This includes her current role as the Queensland branch chair for Meetings and Events Australia (MEA). MEA is the Australian event industry’s largest professional organisation.
Ellyse has been involved in the events industry for more than six years and loves creating memorable experiences for clients and their guests.
She is passionate about helping people and takes great pleasure in seeing everyone happy and enjoying themselves. With her event coordination background, she can leverage her experience into recognising the client’s needs to recommend event spaces that will ensure a successful event.
She prides herself on her commitment to developing and maintaining solid relationships with her customers. She will go above and beyond to ensure they have a great experience at Brisbane Showgrounds.
Maddison has been working in the events and hospitality industry for over four years and is known for delivering exceptional customer service to her clientele.
Having a natural flair for creating new and exciting marketing initiatives, Maddison brings to the Brisbane Showgrounds a true passion for creating out of the box solutions for her internal and external stakeholders. Having a natural sales ability and a passion for all things marketing, Maddison understands all her clients’ requirements and provides them with personalised advice on how they can take their events to the next level.
Having recently completed a Bachelors Degree in Communications majoring in Marketing and Digital Media, she can now put what she has learnt into practice.
